OUR STORY – ABOUT US
Maycliff Homes is based in Hermosa Beach, California and was founded by John Mehling, a 3rd generation builder. John’s father and grandfather were both builders, developing and constructing custom and spec homes. It comes as no surprise that John continued the family tradition and founded Maycliff Homes, catering to the high-end custom home market in the South Bay, California.
At Maycliff Homes, we are experts in developing a strategy to bring your vision to life. Our core philosophy extends to every aspect of our company, from understanding your needs and wants, through to project planning and delivery. Usually, our clients have sense of their style preferences, so we provide input based on our experience to ensure you feel confident in your choices. We understand our responsibility of cost and timeline, and leverage our established relationships with vendors and contractors to construct you project within budget.
Above all, we pride ourselves on maintaining a clear line of communication throughout the project. Thousands of decisions big and small that make up your project are recorded and tracked during regularly scheduled meetings. We continually inspect progress, obsessively checking finishes and material prior to installation to ensure the products being installed meet the highest standards. We embrace the challenge each project brings, while maintaining involvement in every design decision. We lay out tile options before a single tile is set and map out your stone slabs for the cuts before the fabricator runs the saw. We oversee these actions and many more, to be sure the design is consistent with your overall vision.
